Grace Baptist Church is a Christian congregation in Nokomis, Illinois made up of people of all ages who have trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior. We’re not perfect people, but we strive to please God in everything we do.
Our desire is to love God and love the people around us. Since God has shown us His love, we want to show that love to others, too.
We welcome people of all walks in life – raised in church or not. Casual dress is typically worn and the atmosphere is laid back, so come in whatever you have to wear and you’ll fit right in. Most people wear jeans, but if you want to wear a suit and tie because that’s what makes you feel comfortable, that’s okay, too.
Sunday School @ 9:30 am: Sunday School is classroom time where each age group studies the Bible on their level. Hands on activities are done with children, discussions are held with youth and adults. Sunday School is a great way for all to explore the Bible and grow in their faith.
Sunday morning @ 10:30 am: This service includes both contemporary and traditional worship music, followed by a message from God’s word. The service will generally dismiss around 11:45 am. During the service, we offer Children’s Church (for children 5 years old through 5th grade), and Nursery (for babies through 4 years old) so that both you and your children may encounter God in a way that is meaningful to you.
Wednesday evening @ 6:30 pm: Our midweek service begins with a free dinner for all, and it’s always good! Starting at 7 pm, we then break up into groups (children, youth, and adults) to read and study the Bible. It’s a great time of fellowship and discipleship for everyone present!
Pastor Chris Huff has been with us since July 2009. He and his wife, Abby, have four children. Chris is originally from St. Louis, MO and even though he was raised as a city boy, he has a small town heart.
Chris is all over the internet, so you can find him on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and Goodreads. You might also like to read his blog at pastorhuff.com, or if you’d like to hear Chris preach, you can listen to his sermons online. A new sermon from Sunday’s morning service is posted every week.
If you have a need or question and would like to speak with Pastor Chris, feel free to contact him through the website!
