Text:

The most important thing to do to beat depression is to have something to look forward to. Everybody has to have hope. And without faith, one cannot have much hope. Eternal hope is only in Jesus Christ.

The world constantly demands that we conform to it. But Christians are called to be separate from the world.

“For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies” (Psalms 18:1-3).

God gives us strength. Though people go through trials, Jesus Christ gives us hope, and strengthens us so that we might go through those trials. He knows what we need before we do, and will supply all our needs. We have strong enemies, but God is stronger. And there’s hope in that.

God always hears our prayers and He provides for us. There’s hope in that, too. God encourages our hearts in order to serve Him. There’s hope for this fallen world. We can’t get so high in this world that we don’t need God. We always need something to look forward to.

Difficult times will come. But there is hope, and that hope is in Christ Jesus.
