We’re not the only church in Nokomis, and I’m glad that’s the case.
There’s quite a bit of diversity among the churches in and around Nokomis. There are formal churches, and informal ones. There are some that strive for a high degree of excellence, and others that seem more like a family, complete with warts and dirty laundry.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It takes all kinds of churches to reach all kinds of people. While we mean it that all are welcome to our church, we also realize that some will feel more at home at another church. While we’d love to have you join us as we worship our Lord Jesus Christ, even more than that, we want you to worship in a good, Christian church consistently, where you will grow in your faith, and where God will use you to encourage others to grow in their faith.
There are several good, Christian churches in Nokomis. I personally know the pastors of most of the churches in our community, and I can honestly say that they are godly Christians. I love that Grace Baptist is not the only Christian influence in our town. I love that we can work together to reach our community with the gospel.
I love that we are the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God is that realm in which we look to God as our King. It is the people of God, from every walk of life, every race, every denomination, who together share in the fellowship of Jesus Christ.
Southern Baptists do not have a monopoly on Jesus Christ.
So I’m glad that we’re not the only church in Nokomis. I’m glad we can work together to share the love of Jesus in a diversity of ways, so that all people can find a place to worship and serve the Lord.
